Born in Vienna, Eva Reiter studied recorder and viola da gamba at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (Diploma with Honors) and at the Sweelinck-Conservatory in Amsterdam, where she received both master's degrees "cum laude".
Currently she is very active giving concerts as a soloist as well as performing with different baroque ensembles, orchestras and with ensembles for contemporary music (among others Ictus, Klangforum Wien).
Since 2015 she is a member of Ictus.
She was awarded the "Publicity Preis" of the SKE and the "Förderungspreis of the City of Vienna“, the "Queen Marie José International Composition Prize", the "Staats" stipend of the Federal Chancellery for the Arts, a working stipend at the “Akademie Schloss Solitude” the "Erste Bank Kompositionspreis“ as well as other prizes.
Eva Reiter's compositions were performed at international festivals such as Transit (Leuven), Ars Musica (Brussels), ISCM World New Music Festival, generator und Wien Modern (Wiener Konzerthaus), Klangspuren Schwaz (Tirol), Aspekte Salzburg, Sommer in Stuttgart, MaerzMusik – Festival für Zeitfragen (Berlin), musikprotokoll (Graz), Darmstädter Ferienkurse, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Musica Strasbourg, Kunstenfestivaldasarts (Brussels), Wiener Festwochen and others.
