POPCORN

[Everything you always wanted to play but never dared to ask]

 

During your life as a musician you hear so much music of which you think: I wish I could play this one day...

Yet iet never happens; due to all sort of other projects asking your attention and also - in the field of contemporary music - a certain musical parochialism...

Zwerm and Mr. Probe (www.myspace.com/mrprobespace) join forces to change this situation.  Together with Jeroen Stevens (I Love Sarah, Ultima Vez ...) on drums and singer Gregory Frateur (Dez Mona, Daan) a formation is born that combines the best of a rockband and a contemporary music ensemble.

The concept is clear and easy: the players selected six popsongs that they always wanted to play (but never dared to ask for ...).  Peter Vermeersch then (X-legged Sally and the Flat Earth Society) arrenged them for the band and finally six composers were asked to write a new piece inspired by one of the songs.
